We are in our 8th year of making positive changes in our local communities and Oklahoma. We will continue to review our goals for the next printing of our membership brochure and decide on a possible change on health care that indicates we favor strengthening the ACA as we transition to a Medicare-for-All Single Payer system. Let me know of additional suggestions before March 7. The entire group will review the proposed wording on health care and decide if we feel we should make a change.
If you would like to pay your 2018 dues you can mail a check for $20 to me at any time or bring $20 to our meeting on January 31. Checks should be payable to Brennan Society, and mailed to 2109 Rushing Meadows, Edmond, OK 73013.
Yours in the cause,
We recently held our 7th Brennan Society Anniversary Celebration! I can’t imagine a better group of folks than those present. We are already about half way through our 8th year of making positive changes in our local communities and Oklahoma. Some of our number recently attended the Celebration of Life for our Brennan Society Colleague Jimmie Norman, who left this realm of life on Christmas Day.
Bob Boutz will be our featured speaker at our gathering on Wednesday January 31 from 5:30-7 pm at Johnnie’s in Edmond (33 E. 33rd Street).
We will review our goals for the next printing of our membership brochure and include a possible change on health care that indicates we favor strengthening the ACA as we transition to Medicare-for-All or single payer. Suggestions will be brought to me and then the entire group will review them and decide if we feel changes are necessary and if so, what those changes will be.
If you would like to pay your 2018 dues you can mail a check for $20 to me at any time or bring $20 to our meeting on January 31. The check should be payable to Brennan Society, and mailed to 2109 Rushing Meadows, Edmond, OK 73013.
Wednesday November 15 from 5:30-7 pm at Johnnie’s (33 E. 33rd) in Edmond we will celebrate 7+ years that the Brennan Society has been in existence! Our premier progressive organization was given life by 5 Co-Founders—LaDonna Hunt, Ismat Esrar, Tom Guild, Iris Lochner, & Gene Hunt in August 2010! We have achieved amazing results for the progressive movement in Oklahoma in our 7+ years of existence!
We have elected county & congressional district party officers, elected 20 of our number as members of delegations to national political nominating conventions, seen one of our own serve as a presidential elector, supported numerous candidates for public office, opened the Oklahoma Democratic Party to participation by independents in primary elections, and given life to progressivism in Edmond and Central Oklahoma with members hailing from dozens of counties around the state!
LaDonna, Ismat, Tom & Gene will share remembrances from our first 7 year! We will have delicious anniversary cake and door prizes! Join us for this special 7 Years & Counting Anniversary Celebration!
